Kid Block

Anyone who has handed a small child a device – be it a smartphone or a tablet – and let them play with it knows just how difficult it is to get them to stop.

Kid Block is a parental control tool designed to help you manage and limit children’s use of devices via your home Wi-Fi network.

The app allows you, via a password-protected control panel, to send a fake ‘shutdown’ command to other devices active on the same home Wi-Fi network, thereby encouraging children to stop using them without having to tell them to do so

Upon receiving the command, the screen will be entirely taken up by a message such as ‘battery low’ and the audio volume will be set to zero. At that point, the child will have no choice but to switch to a different game

It is also possible to activate a timer on the device so that, after a set period of time has elapsed, the device is ‘locked’.
