I've got a story to tell, and this is how it goes. (To skip the story, look for the ***.)
Principal actor: you or someone special to you
Setting: wherever you are right now, always
Something memorable has happened here, something crystal-worthy. You, wherever you are, have a story that needs crystallizing. You and your android, you'll accomplish this together. In the Crystallize app, you hit the (+) button to add a crystal to deposit your story and fill in the details of this memorable moment.
Done! That was easy.
Now your crystal holds a description, some photos, videos, and comments. It stays here in this scene, which is where you are now, always. You may take your leave, for being the owner of this crystal, you have the privilege of editing its contents from anywhere-whenever.
Time passes; the crystal is still there for you whenever you go back to visit. You decide to share your crystal with friends. Now when they approach its place of resting, it calls out to them via notification, letting them know that it is nearby. "Someone important has a crystal near you!" It says. So they tap the notification, and there it is. On the map where they are, which is where you left it, there's a crystal. "Open it up," their index finger urges. Succumbing to finger pressure the crystal opens, revealing the story that you so artfully captured. Your friends add their own pictures and videos and maybe leave a comment or two.
More crystals crop up here and there. They notify you when you are nearby, as you can only open them when you are at their location. Some of them tell an historical drama that took place here; others are personal memories. Some recommend neat places to stop at; others are part of a scavenger hunt.
Regardless, the stories live on, being crystallized in place.
See footnote for alternate ending.
***Here's how it works:***
You can put a crystal anywhere. When you are at a special place, simply create a crystal. Your crystal will be tied to that location and can only be viewed from that location.
A crystal holds text, photos, videos, and comments. Once your crystal has been created, you can edit it from anywhere.
You can make your crystals public or share them only with contacts you choose from your contacts list. The contacts will be notified that you shared a crystal with them. They'll be shown where your crystal is on a map, but they must be near the crystal in order to open it.
When you are near a crystal that has been shared with you and if you have not visited the crystal yet or if it has been updated, you'll get a notification that you are close enough to open it. Once you open the crystal, you can add comments and more photos and videos.
Use it to impart the history you want to remember to the places you love.
Footnotes: Ephemeral in nature, your story is better suited to expire after a period of time. You edit your crystal and set an expiration date. Your friends make it to the crystal before it expires, but just barely. The next day it’s gone.
