Teach your kids to swim at an early age. One of the most difficult parts of teaching your kids to swim is getting to a qualified instructor with access to a pool. You can bring in an instructor to teach your kids to swim at an early age so they can spend more time enjoying the pool.

Encourage the sport of swimming. If someone in your family is considering the sport of swimming, having a pool in the backyard can be a tremendous advantage. Even if the swimmer goes to another pool for lessons and practice, there’s always time – and a place – to put in more work on stroke and technique.

Have a healthier family. Exercise experts all agree that swimming is a great exercise for people of all ages. The pool puts less pressure on the joints, making light swimming a form of exercise for many people who are older or dealing with limitations because of injuries.

Don’t avoid the summer heat. Instead of hiding inside when the temperatures near 100 degrees, a swimming pool is a great way to encourage normal outdoor activities. Of course, you want to remain hydrated and take in easy in extreme heat, but knowing there’s a pool to dive in when you’re through weeding or exercising or gardening is a huge plus.
