App is highly unsecure.
While the Ceasar Cipher might keep the casual observer from reading your texts,
it will pose no problem for the NSA GCHQ etc.
Version 1.08 has the ability to select the Caesar Shift, defaults to 13 (ROT 13) on load.
A future upgrade will have the ability for the user to import their own character set.
This might help people with none English Alphabets.
A future version will also incorporate the Vigenere Cipher, a more secure Cipher.
This app does Not interfere with your Network billing I have no influence on your billing in any way,
so your Messages are sent at your normal charge rate unless this copy has been hacked of course.
Did you download this app from a reputable site ?
The method of operation is largely self explanatory.
Enter SMS message to be 'encrypted',
Select recipient's Mobile number using the select phone no Button.
Select the Ceasar Shift, you and the recipient must use the same shift to
be able to read each other's messages.
Press Scramble, this will scramble up your message.
Then press send SMS.
All being well, your scrambled message should end up with your intended recipient.
All messages sent are prefixed with /%*1 so that at the receiving end, their App can
tell that a scrambled message has been received and will display it.
PS Your recipient must also be running this app and have the same Caesar shift selected.,
I will try to make future upgrades backward compliant if possible and allow people to select which ciphers to use, though size limits on apps may place restrictions on how much I can pack into a single App.
When your recipient replies, his message too will be prefixed by /*%1 and be displayed
in the Scrambled SMS box, press unscramble to decode his or her message.
In this way, you and they can have two way scrambled SMS messaging.
As I said earlier, the Caesar cipher is very very unsecure and should not be used where you need
genuine secrecy. Later versions of this App might utilise better forms of encryption.
This version works with standard Characters, letters numbers etc and some
punctuation characters, try to keep your messages standard just plain alphabet a-z 0-9
and it works ok.
I'm looking a way to allow people to import their own character sets.that way,non English alphabets may also be imported and used, eg the Cyrillic alphabet.
Some pretty good updates coming up.
