You can read the ancient Hebrew bible texts direct from the ancient pages of the codex, rather than a digital text version. This will give you a much more authentic feel to your bible reading and study.
In addition, this app will allow the user to more easily engage with the ancient Biblical texts because of the indexing which allows the user to find a chapter & verse much more easily than would be possible via flat files such as .pdf and/or image files.
The latest version of the app brings auto-navigation which will automatically cycle through verses on a page.
If you have any issues please email the developer.
*** WARNING ***
Only the first 10 chapters of Joshua will work with the current version; the developer is still working on provisioning the mapping of the remainder of Joshua.
If anyone is interested in assisting this effort to map the remaining books in the Aleppo Codex, please contact the developer.
This is the first in a planned series of texts which will come as updates and/or separate applications.
Navigate through the Aleppo Codex using standard book, chapter & verse selections.
Select a translation which you will use to interact with the text (developer is open to suggestions for further translation options):
1) Aleppo Hebrew
2) Leningrad Hebrew,
3) Modern Hebrew,
5) Luther 1545,
Use the graphical images of the Aleppo Codex to navigate through the text - this will map back to the digital text so the user can more easily engage with the ancient codex.
The idea behind this app is to assist the novice reader or more engaged scholar to read the ancient texts in a convenient way on Android tablet or smart phone.
The developer kindly asks for any errata to be fed back so that the application can be improved.
Any ideas or offers of assistance appreciated (this is still in BETA test phase!)
