The Molise region , thanks to the typical landscape of the Apennines, is considered one of the first European regions for the growth of white truffle. A high quality product appreciated in the kitchens of the most prestigious restaurants in Italy and abroad.
A white truffle of about 900 gr was found in Molise and sold to the Chinese billionaire Stanley Ho for $ 250,000, a news that therefore confirms the Molise region as prime land for production of the precious white truffle and the 40% of the national harvest of Tuber Magnum Pico.
Much more common is the black truffle, with its variety Tuber Aestivum Vitt. and with its fine variety winter truffle (Tuber melanosporum Vitt.)
