Rush is a progressive rock music group from Canada that consists of three people. They have been in a career for more than 30 years. Founded in 1968 in Toronto by Alex Lifeson (guitar), Geddy Lee (vocals, bass, keyboards) and John Rutsey (drums), Rush underwent personnel changes only once Rutsey came out after the first album and was replaced by Neil Peart. Lee and Lifeson usually write music and Peart lyrics, although there are always exceptions from time to time.
All members of Rush are known as reliable musicians and their compositions are sometimes quite complicated by unconventional rhythms like 7/8 or syncopation, as well as guitar solos and seriously lyricized lyrics. Rush has been repeatedly awarded the Juno Award, the Canadian Grammy Award. In addition, Lee, Lifeson, and Peart are all members of the Order of Canada.
