Dr. Seema Rao, daughter of a Freedom fighter of India, is well qualified, with an MBA in crisis management, alongside a PhD in martial sciences from USA and an MD, besides professional qualifications in Close Combat training. She is an approved training resource by the Indian Home Ministry, for imparting training to Indian forces. Along with her spouse, she has pioneered the modern Close Quarter Battle Training revolution, training 15,000 soldiers over 18 years in innovative methods without compensation. She has been featured for her work and as a woman of grit by Femina, Savvy, New Woman, Society and US women’s magazines. With many facets to her persona, She was a runner up for Mrs India beauty pageant and was also conferred the World Peace Award by the International Peace Congress held in Malaysia.
About The Book
In Nov 2011, the President of India conferred honorary rank to three eminent Indian personalities and commissioned them into the Indian Army. Along with celebrity sportsmen MS Dhoni and Abhinav Bindra, there was a low profile Indian who was conferred honorary rank. He was Dr. Deepak Rao, a civilian, who had contributed to modernization of close quarter battle training of the Indian forces, training about 15,000 soldiers and policemen for 18 years without compensation, beyond the call of duty, with undying dedication and no expectation.
This book is in two parts. It traces the success story of Dr. Deepak Rao, a military trainer, scientist, physician, author and philosopher and his wife, Dr. Seema, daughter of a Freedom fighter of India, who decided to join her husband in his rendezvous to serve the Indian forces.
The second part reveals the Rao couple’s secrets of success in excelling in the camouflaged field of sweat, grit and blood, of contributing to a system usually resistant to civilians, and gaining recognition by the second largest army in the world.
